Gallup found 7 in 10 Americans oppose a data center near them. Only 18 percent of 14- to 29-year-olds feel hopeful about AI, and 70 percent say it is moving too fast. Bumble lost 21 percent of its paying users, from 4 million down to 3.2 million, as people pulled back from algorithmic life. And an MIT NANDA study found 95 percent of enterprise AI pilots returned nothing on $30 to $40 billion spent. This is not a blip.
