What is Skydance?

Skydance is the new parent company of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. The merger closed on 6 October 2026. The deal values Warner Bros. Discovery at about $81 billion in equity and $110 billion including debt. CBS, HBO, DC, Harry Potter, Top Gun, Nickelodeon and CNN now live under 1 corporate roof. The studio names stay. The corporate owner changed. Skydance Corporation has traded on the New York Stock Exchange as SKYD since 6 October. I saw the direction early. In my September 2025 Math Man Magazine edition, I wrote that the Ellisons were consolidating media pipes, platforms and press into 1 orbit. The plumbers beat the advertisers. Skydance is that orbit with a name, and roughly $79 billion of net debt attached.
