Only 5% of the world are entrepreneurs today. That must rise to 15-20% by 2040 if we want to solve poverty, obesity, and the systemic challenges facing humanity.

Igor's call, in full

Right now, only 5 percent of the world's population are entrepreneurs. That is a ripple, and it is not enough. I forecast, and I push for, that number rising to 15-20 percent by 2040. At 5 percent we get incrementalism. When 10, 15, 20 percent become entrepreneurs, especially cause entrepreneurs, we get acceleration, because society scales solutions faster than governments or NGOs ever will. The proof that misfits with entrepreneurial fire rewrite whole systems is already here. Boyan Slat's Ocean Cleanup has removed 12 million kilograms of plastic since 2018 and aims to clear 90 percent of floating ocean plastic by 2040. M-Pesa gave 50 million-plus Africans financial access and lifted 194,000 households out of poverty. Patagonia's founder gave away his $3 billion company in 2022 so the profits fund the planet. Poverty and obesity are not impossible. They are waiting for 10x entrepreneurs to step up. Help turn that 5 percent into 15-20 percent.
