Why do people we love gaslight us?

Because some of them cannot face their own reflection. TRUTH HURTS EGOS. LIES PROTECT THEM. Trapped in denial, shame, delusion, or an oversized ego, they would rather attack the messenger than confront the message. They twist your words. Rewrite history. Shift blame. Manipulate your emotions. Turn themselves into victims. And sometimes walk away, convinced you were the problem. You can recognize them: big ego, no honor. When manipulation becomes a pattern that makes you doubt your own memory, judgment, and reality, it crosses into gaslighting. I speak truth to power. Not just to billionaires, CEOs, and politicians. Also to friends, family, and the people I love. Honesty is respect. Constructive criticism is a gift. Accountability is character. My rule? I tell the truth with courage. I deliver it with respect. I own my mistakes. And I never confuse someone's wounded ego with my wrongdoing. Telling the truth can cost you people. Protecting their lies costs you yourself.
